PJM Reviews Rules for New Power Projects
At its October meeting, the Federal Energy Regulatory Commission (FERC) took up PJM Interconnection’s latest filing on the process for connecting new power projects to the regional grid. PJM’s filing addresses proposed changes involving project timelines, grid studies, potential study delays, and the allocation of certain upgrade costs.
The proceeding is relevant to long-term grid planning and the process for adding new power resources. Additional review of the final order would be needed to determine which proposed changes FERC accepted and whether they create any immediate effects.
